About Us

The Panamanian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Promoters is a non-profit organization founded in 1973, which has developed a representative activity in the real estate industry. Since established, its mission has been to bring together professionals from the real estate industry, who offer services under the parameters of their statute and the code of ethics, in order to strengthen professionalism in an integral way through good practices.

The Association was the propeller in 1999 of the Law Decree No. 6 of July 1999 "By which the prefession of Real Estate Broker is regulated in the Ministry of Commerce and Industries" and its regulation by executive decree of November 7, 2001 and resolution No 002-2001 adopting the code of ethics.

ACOBIR has maintained its leadership through the permanent actions in favor of the industry, promoters of changes, facilitators of investments and builders of decent homes. We maintain our objectives of contributing to the development and sustainability of an important sector of the national economy, with representativeness, defense of the sector, promotion of national and foreign investment, education and international alliances.

Structure

The statutes of ACOBIR establish certaing categories of members depending on the main activity carried out by the natural or legal person.

These classifications are the following:

Organizational Structure

The Association is constituted as follows:

General Assembly
Is the supreme body of the Panamenian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Promoters, wich acts in accordance with the provisions contained in the Statutes of the Association.
President
Is the main person, legal representative and his functions are established by the Statutes of the Association.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is made up by 9 members: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant of Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant of Treasurer, Prosecutor and two members as established in the Statutes of the Association.
Executive Director
The administration and daily management of matters dictated by the Board of Directors or the President.

  • Federación Internacional de Profesiones Inmobiliarias - (FIABCI), con sede en Francia, que agremia a más de mil miembros, principalmente del continente europeo.
  • National Association of Realtors - (NAR), con sede en los Estados Unidos, con muchos miles de asociados en todo los Estados Unidos y en el resto del mundo.
  • Miembro de la Confederación Inmobiliaria de Latinoamérica – (CILA), están representando los intereses del Departamento de Servicios Bienes Raíces de los países miembros en América Latina, este año presidida por ACOBIR, a través de Frank Morrice.

Memorándum de Entendimientos Internacionales

  1. Appraisal Institute: se estableció cuando el Instituto Americano de Tasadores de Bienes Raíces (AIREA) y la Sociedad de Tasadores de Bienes Raíces (Sociedad) se unificaron en enero de 1991. AIREA y la Sociedad, fundada en 1932 y 1935, respectivamente, se creó para ayudar a estandarizar el proceso de evaluación promoviendo la educación profesional y manteniendo altos estándares éticos. National Association of Realtors – NAR: La Asociación Nacional de REALTORS® es la asociación comercial más grande de los Estados Unidos, que representa a 1.3 millones de miembros, incluidos los institutos, sociedades y consejos de NAR, involucrados en todos los aspectos de las industrias de bienes raíces residenciales y comerciales. Compuesta por corredores residenciales y comerciales, vendedores, administradores de propiedades, tasadores, asesores y otras personas involucradas en la industria de bienes raíces. Los miembros pertenecen a una o más de aproximadamente 1,200 asociaciones / juntas locales y 54 asociaciones estatales y territoriales de realtors.
